Non-invasive vein treatment
Theraclion’s robotic high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) platform treats selected superficial venous reflux from outside the body. No intravascular catheter or incision is required.
Theraclion’s robotic high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) platform treats selected superficial venous reflux from outside the body. No intravascular catheter or incision is required.
1. Ultrasound visualizes the refluxing vein. 2. Focused energy heats the targeted vein wall. 3. Cooling helps protect surrounding tissues. 4. The vein closes as treatment progresses under robotic positioning.
PRIMARY APPLICATION: Superficial venous reflux causing symptomatic varicose veins, particularly great saphenous vein (GSV) incompetence. OTHER REPORTED TARGETS: Small saphenous vein (SSV) reflux and incompetent perforating veins. COMPLEX PRESENTATIONS: Selected chronic venous disease and venous leg ulcers associated with incompetent perforators have been described in published reports.
Duplex ultrasound is required to establish reflux, map the anatomy and select a suitable target. Disease severity, vein depth, tortuosity, adjacent structures, skin changes and treatment access require physician assessment. Do not present deep vein thrombosis, deep venous obstruction, or all venous ulcers as established SONOVEIN indications.
Non-invasive transcutaneous energy delivery; integrated ultrasound imaging; robotic guidance; outpatient-oriented workflow; no catheter insertion or general anesthesia in the manufacturer-described treatment pathway. Treatment experience and outcomes vary; consult the current IFU and local approval.
